WEST MAUI UPDATES

Ho’oilo House Travel & Safety Measures

March 2024

Aloha all, as most of you know, we reopened in mid-October 2023. We are thankful for each and every guest who has come to visit since the devastating Lahaina fire in August. We thank you not only for staying with us at Ho’oilo House, but also for traveling with aloha.

We are happy to report that clean-up has begun in our beloved Lahaina Town, but please know that this area is still closed to all.

Please continue to keep an eye on our social pages as we highlight some of the amazing restaurants, shops, and activities available around the island.  Our location south of Lahaina, in an area known locally as Launiupoko, allows guests a rather quick trip to the other side of the island – giving you access to central, south, and upcountry Maui. North of Lahaina Town, is open and welcoming visitors (including Kaanapali, Honokowai, Napili, and Kapalua). Please travel further into West Maui with aloha in your heart. This area and its people have been traumatized. Please be respectful of our community, what it has endured, and continues to endure through distribution hubs and displaced housing.

We will end with the same sentiment before our reopening last year, please know that not only do we want and need you to visit, Maui needs you. While Lahaina Town has a long road to recovery, the rest of Maui remains our island paradise.

With warm aloha, Amy, Dan, & Family
